Most tech bags fail for one reason: you can't see what's in them. The fix is a layout that opens flat, so every cable, charger and dongle has a fixed place you can check at a glance.
Start with the heaviest thing
Your laptop charger goes in the widest loop, closest to the hinge, so it anchors the pouch when it's upright on a desk. Cables sit in the narrower loops beside it, coiled once and secured with their own tie.
Small things go in mesh
SIM tools, SD cards and adapters disappear in any pocket that isn't see-through. A zipped mesh pocket keeps them visible and stops them migrating to the bottom of the bag.
Protect the drive
A 2.5″ drive or an earbuds case belongs in the padded slot, away from anything with a hard edge. That slot is the one place in the pouch with foam on all sides for a reason.
